Hey There -

Wow! Looks like moving to Hanoi has impacted you in many ways! I am surprised that you are looking into other careers, only because I know what a fantastic teacher you are. At the same time, I truly believe that you need to take care of yourself first, and if the roller coaster that is teaching makes you unhappy/stressed - then you definitely should explore other opportunities! I am behind you 100% in whatever path you choose. You should love what you do - and you have many talents to offer, so I say... GO FOR IT!! Love you girl -- C

I love my teaching job that doesn't pay me anything, because I can walk away when I want to. I can also be quite frank with parents and students, what are they going to do fire me? I love having the opportunity to help a group of amazing teachers with all the stuff that takes their free time. I love helping kids improve their reading skills. I know this decision did not come easy, but education is not what it used to be and your mental and physical well-being are what's important.

I resonate with this so much! I felt like I was letting myself and others down when I left teaching but it is such a tough job! After taking a few years to figure it out I’m working as a school counselor and LOVE working with kids outside of the classroom. Hang in there, there’s light at the end of the tunnel!

Oh my gosh that really helps me feel better. Hearing that others have done it, or that you even just understand means so much. I am so glad you have found something that still allows you to work with kids that you enjoy. Especially since you have the same schedule and hours as a teacher! Yay! Thank you, I am hanging on!

Hi Stephanie!! Glad to hear you are loving Hanoi! My international experience truly opened doors for me; especially with technology. See if there are any training companies. Also, check to see if you could become certified to redeliver Apple trainings (if you want). International Schools are always looking for tech specialist or directors. Going that route really helped me transition into a different role. I will do some poking around on my end to see what opportunities are that way. Also are you in a local school or private international school? Sometimes that makes a huge difference too. Do you have what’s app or Marco Polo? Would love to chat! Talk soon and take care. Hang in there. You have gone through a big change - you did a major move!! 🥰🤗

Hey lovely lady! I have been looking down some of those channels but you have given me some ideas as well! Thank YOU! And of course send me anything you find. ;) stephaniejroush@gmail

It is a more local school working to become an accredited international school. It does make a huge difference but I am ready to be done with the classroom either way. I want to stay here if I can make a difference outside of the classroom, but working on some things to see if that is possible.
